DV victim & dogs need home
Donation protected
In August of this year, animal control responded to a call about two dogs living by a river in Scranton, PA. Animal Control responded to the call and met "B". B is a single female that has been met with tragedy. Due to ongoing litigation, we are only referring to her as B.
Be informed animal control that In January of this year her house was burnt to the ground. Her mother died in February. Her father has been deceased for a year now too. B then admitted why she was living by the river...4 weeks ago, she was sexually assaulted by her long time boyfriend. After the sexual assault, the cops detained her boyfriend and while she was being examined by the emergency room physicians, she was notified that the home was a crime scene and that she has no way to stay there. There was no lease, so even Iif she could get past the shame and trauma, she has no rights to stay there.
B has 2 dogs and she refuses to give them up...she is dependent upon them for safety and support...these dogs are the only family she has left.
Last week during the 3 day rain storm, her camp was flooded. Everything that was a necessity was lost or damaged.
While she has been able to secure clothing and food, it is getting colder. The last thing this ACO wants is to take her dogs from her. The ACO arranged for their spays/neuters, and vaccines to be done free of charge.
B needs suitable housing that accepts dogs. B will need her utilities turned on. B does have a job, however she cannot leave the dogs at her campsite alone because they need her as much as she needs them.
Please help us get B back on her feet!
