Dustin's community freeshare pantry

To Whom it May Concern,
We are just two average people who have seen a need in our community and have stepped up to help. As friends we help moderate a freebies site on Facebook and decided to take it one step further. Dustin Madden was raised in the foster care system and understands what it is like to do without. Lee was a single parent with four children and a modest income. Dustin has realized that many in our community have suffered food insecurity and limited resources. The recent Covid 19 battle and phasing out of benefits has compounded this to include those who are struggling to make ends meet. Unfortunately, food banks cannot keep up with this and many people are reluctant to use these due to embarrassment or other factors. So, we came up with the idea of having a type of roadside stand that people can come to and get the food etc. that they may need. Having the ability to take what they need, when they need it with no stigma attached has been a huge success. The local community has stepped up with food and some small cash donations.
And there is our issue.
The original stand is merely a few plastic storage units on a picnic table with a tarp and a piece of plywood. At the time we had no idea how popular this would be and how much attention it would get both in the community via word of mouth and our facebook page, but also the media. Both local radio stations, Saltwire newspapers and the CBC have picked up the story (see links attached).
The demand has been huge, and the donations can not keep up. With the small cash donations, we have purchased some of the needed things, but we are falling short. The stand itself is not weatherproof by any means and so we are trying to get a better shelter in place before the bad weather hits.
We are asking you for whatever help you can provide whether it is a donation of building materials, food, supplies or cash, anything would be a major help. We are not making any profit nor are we taking any personal expenses. Dustin started this with $300 of his own money. This is purely an effort to help give back to our community in any way we can.
