Preserving Our Place of Worship: An Urgent Appeal for Masjid Daar Us Sunnah
Allah's House, Your Masjid
The brothers at DUS Dawah and Masjid Daar Us Sunnah have, over many years, made continual and dedicated efforts to save funds in order to secure a new location in the Shepherds Bush and Hammersmith area.
For more than fifteen years, Masjid Daar Us Sunnah has served the local Muslim community from a small and humble space situated at the end of a narrow alleyway. Despite its limited size and challenging condition, it has remained a centre of worship, learning, and unity for many worshippers and students of knowledge.
An Imminent Challenge
Regrettably, after all these years, our landlord has now informed us that the lease will not be renewed. We have been given only three months to vacate the premises. As a result, we are facing the very real possibility of losing our masjid unless we are able to secure a new location with urgency.
As you may have observed in the short video shared above, the current condition of the masjid is far from ideal. The premises are small, restricted, and no longer suitable for meeting the growing needs of the community.
The Financial Requirement
In order to make a serious and viable bid for a suitable property in West London, where property prices are exceptionally high, we must raise approximately £2 million to purchase a local Islamic centre which is up for sale! - Read our Brochure here
This sum is necessary to secure a stable and permanent place of worship that can serve present and future generations.
Our Appeal
We therefore sincerely appeal to you to donate whatever you are able and to help spread awareness of this project within your respective networks. Every contribution, regardless of its size, brings us closer to securing a permanent home for our masjid and safeguarding its vital role in the community.
Jazakumullahu Khair for your continued support and generosity.
Textual Encouragement
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah ﷻ, Allah ﷻ will build for him a house similar to it in Paradise.” This ḥadīth is recorded by al-Bukhārī.
Shaykh Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUthaymīn (1347 to 1421 AH / 1925 to 2001 CE) رحمه الله stated:
“The mosques are among the most excellent affairs for which wealth is donated and for which the reward is perpetual. Indeed, their reward is continuous, varied, and manifold. This is because the Muslims worship Allah ﷻ within them through ṣalāh and other acts of devotion. Within them are the worshipper, the reciter of the Qurʾān, and the seeker of knowledge, among others. The Muslims benefit from them by seeking shade from the heat and comfort from the cold.”
These noble texts serve as a powerful reminder of the immense and lasting reward associated with supporting the houses of Allah ﷻ.
