Hi, my name is Filipina Warren and my father, Eugene Warren Jr (76) passed away on June 9th from complications of cardiac amyloidosis. I’m raising funds for my mother, Edita Warren (77) to help ease the financial loss and overwhelming reality that she’s lost her love and best friend of over 50 years. My parents would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary this November. My father served 21 years in the Air Force and was a Vietnam Vet. He was an avid jazz musician, and his non-musical career involved working as a high security government contractor, security officer, correctional officer, and care staff for adults with mental challenges. My mother worked over 20 years as a uniform tailor/seamstress at Moffett Field Naval Base, and small business owner as a seamstress. Since retiring, my parents have lived on a fixed income with their retirement pension and social security. My mother makes an additional modest income as a care provider a few hours a week. Unfortunately, in the two weeks since my father has passed, the shock and stress of learning that the reassessment of military benefits, social security, and widow benefits will take several weeks has been difficult on my mother. I’m doing the legwork to help her navigate this new reality, but the timing of when benefits will be reinstated is unknown and the first of the month is coming quickly.

My mother has always been the giver with a big heart and never expects anything in return. All funds raised will go to my mother and will help pay for bills over the next few months. The additional help will allow her to grieve and hopefully ease her stress during this difficult time.
