The inhumane and unprovoked murder of George Floyd follows the disturbing pattern of violent police brutality against a disproportionate amount of Black Americans. George Floyd’s death, as well as the seemingly countless African Americans who have died at the discretion of law enforcement, are symptoms of the systemic racism that continues to persist in the United States. All members of our Sigma Nu chapter stand against racism and stand with the Black community. We are ready to listen, learn, and be challenged. We hope that you join us in solidarity and support our fundraiser and ultimately transformative justice.
Color Of Change is the nation’s largest online racial justice organization. Over 1.7 million members drive campaigns and initiatives that move decision-makers in corporations and government agencies to create a less hostile world for Black people in America. Its campaigns and initiatives win changes that matter by designing strategies powerful enough to fight racism and injustice—in politics and culture, in the workplace and the economy, and in criminal justice and community life.
Ultimately, Color Of Change is working to change the rules — some spoken, some unspoken — that govern our society. Systemic racism ensures that people of color live in a state of a permanent disadvantage when it comes to things like moving through the educational system, the economy, the healthcare system, and so much more. It is no secret that our society needs restructuring.

We have also decided to participate in the Pay Your Dues challenge. The purpose of the challenge is to motivate Greek life and other student organizations to donate leftover dues and/or raise money for racial justice causes, educate themselves and their members on racial issues in the US, and sign petitions and contact government officials to demand change.
