Dudley Autism Drop In to remain open

Donation protected
Hello my name is Helen I am a volunteer who runs the Dudley Autism Group which meets weekly on a Tuesday morning. We have no funding and rely on the entrance fee we charge. Also a donation we had a while ago. However we are now in danger of having to close after Christmas 2023.
The group runs locally on a Tuesday morning and it is for Autistic adults from 18 years upwards. We are the only group in our area to offer this service and some members come on 2 or 3 buses to get to us. We have many activities to offer them.
The group is important to me because for many of them they have no other social life. My son is a member and after 5 years we have all become like a family unit. The members are devastated that we may have to close. One compared us to the Titanic I said I have big enough life belt for us all. Lol It is important because I have seen them grow in confidence and interact with each other more . They stop being autistic for 3 hours a week. I also help them with any housing ,social issues or just someone to talk to.
The funds will be used to keep us afloat financially. We have rent to pay each month and we don't take enough to cover that sometimes but we do. Also it will pay for equipment and a lap top for the members. We will be able to upgrade their games and art equipment. Also ensure we have a Christmas party and other treats in 2024. Please help no donation is too small or large. Many thanks
