Dear friends, neighbors and our beloved community,
In over eight years, we have prided ourselves in staying open through thick and thin: hurricanes, blizzards (squalls...?), blackouts, you name it. With great heartache, we felt that the right move this time around would be to close our doors on March 18th and weather this unprecedented storm in the safest possible way, for everyone.
Here we are after over a month of shutdown with no clear timeline. We are asking for your support so that we can turn the lights back on when the time comes and more importantly, to help our staff who haven't received their unemployment benefits yet. We know, we know, everyone's team is the best team, but truly, there is no one like our dedicated, hardworking and loyal duckling family - many of whom have been with us since the start.
While we were hesitant to set up a fundraiser earlier in the hopes of receiving some kind of government support, they have unfortunately shown us how little they value small businesses. We are so grateful to any amount you are able to donate, though if your funds are limited, we *encourage* you to give to those on the front lines, your local food banks and shelters.
We cannot wait to share a plate of brisket and an Ilegal Mezcal paloma with you when this is all over. Stay safe, smart and healthy,
