Run Dublin Marathon 2019 for Clare Crusaders

Last October, with virtually no experience of road running, I set myself the challenge of completing the Dublin Marathon 2019. The journey over the past 12 months has been demanding but every run has brought its own reward and has pushed me right to my limits. Inclement weather, the steep hills of Clare, and various injuries have done their best to put a halt to my gallop but am delighted to be on the final countdown to achieving my goal on October 27th.

As part of my training plan, I joined the Clare Crusaders running group in early July and 5.50am, 5.55am and 6am(just incase!!) alarms have become the norm every Saturday morning since. Late nights became a thing of the past and various other sacrifices were made to prepare for Sunday week.

I would love to raise some much needed funds for the Clare Crusaders Clinic which provides free therapy and specialist treatment to over 450 children with special needs in County Clare. Those of you who know me, will know how much of an influence children have in my life both professionally and personally. I’m delighted to have this opportunity to help out children who are most in need of our support.
