Dublin City Half Marathon for Alzheimer's Ireland
On the 30th of March, I'll be running the Dublin City Half Marathon to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society of Ireland alongside my uncle and we're hoping to raise as much money as we can for such an important charity!
Alzheimer's is a disease which has affected so many people across Ireland, both directly and indirectly, and our family is no different. My granny was diagnosed with Alzheimer's about 10 years ago and although she is living very happily in a nursing home and still enjoys spending time with all her 5 children and 15 grandchildren, Alzheimer's has unfortunately changed her and all of our lives. My granny played many different sports throughout her life, including netball, tennis and golf and always loved keeping fit and active, unfortunately, she is no longer able to enjoy sports and physical activity the way that she once could, so we're doing the half marathon in honour of her, which is extra special since the race happens to be on Mother's Day!
Any donations, no matter how small are so, so helpful and really appreciated so thank you very very much :)
