My name is Nusrat. I am an International student right now, in Canada.

I am doing Ph.D. at the University of Alberta. I am in the middle of my PhD.

My mother came to visit me and had a severe stroke and is disabled now. I purchased regular travel insurance, however, she had another stroke earlier (2 years back), high blood pressure, and diabetes. I am not sure how much insurance can help me. She is still in the hospital (University of Alberta Hospital) and every day the bill is accumulating at a rate of 6000 CAD. I am a single parent of a daughter and have no relatives in Canada. I have one brother back home in Bangladesh with his own family. My overall family situation is insufficient to cover these huge medical expenses. If she is discharged from the hospital, she still needs a couple of months for a full recovery; it would cost some more. In this situation, I am unable to help myself.
