We, in America, are in the midst of a national health crisis. The global COVID-19 pandemic is rapidly spreading in our cities and communities. Thousands of people have been infected by this virus and hundreds have died due to this dreadful disease. We have been advised to maintain social distancing and have been spending time in our homes with our loved ones— but our municipal support persons and healthcare providers are selflessly working to help the people infected by this virus on a daily basis. Innumerable doctors, nurses, nursing support staff, aides, therapists, first responders, EMS providers, radiology technicians, respiratory therapists, administrators, police, etc. are providing care and support to the acutely ill, risking their own lives and wellbeing on a daily basis.
The entire coterie of supporters and providers are working endless hours, in suboptimal conditions, to provide care to an unprecedented surge of patients. Most of them are overworked and exhausted, but still, strive to provide exceptional care to their patients.
Grub-for-Scrubs hopes to provide free meals to our essential municipal supporters and our healthcare providers. We work with local restaurants and food delivery outlets to deliver meals to the local ER’s, fire stations, hospitals, EMS services, etc. We only work with local restaurants and caterers which, in turn, helps the community businesses during these financially turbulent times.
We request you to contribute liberally for this worthy cause. We, across the nation, are indebted to the above-referenced providers for their incredible, long hour, and essential services. Please donate generously and show your appreciation to our unrelenting heroes. We assure you that 100% of your donations will be used to provide meals to our community healthcare workers and we shall not deduct any funds for operational/administrative costs. We strongly believe that is the least we can do for these real-life heroes in our community.
