DSC JFC ARSON ATTACK

Hi, my name is Jodie Anderson and I am one of the parents and committee members at DSC JFC. This is my son’s grassroots football club. Tommy and all his team mates (including all other age groups) from U7’s right up to 14’s have been left absolutely devastated this morning, after hearing that their home pitches, containers and all equipment are gone, due to an arson attack at our home ground on Keresforth road, Dodworth, Barnsley. The fire brigade were called at 18:24 last night after reports of a wheelie bin on fire. By the time they arrived it was too late, the fire had spread and everything was damaged. Including containers, equipment, nets, three ride on lawn mowers, and much more. (Please see photos below)

All our home games for the upcoming weekend have been cancelled as we simply have nothing left! All the coaches, parents and players are shocked that someone would do this to our club. It’s not just football, we are a family, a community, we spend our evenings and weekends here, and to our children it’s a way of life.

I am kindly asking for your help and support to get DSC JFC back up and running as soon as possible. As families of the club we will all be donating but unfortunately it won’t be enough. It will cost thousands to get back everything that we have lost. We are a grassroots club, which is solely funded by weekly subs and fundraising events. Any help would be greatly appreciated and if you have any contacts who may be able to help in any way, we would love to hear from you.
