As everyone is well aware, Louth County Council have given planning permission to develop and turn 420 acres of prime agricultural land in Dromin and surrounding areas, into a large scale industrial solar farm backing up against 180 private homes and the local national school.

This development will not only sterilise the land but it will make it almost impossible for any of our children to build in the area. This will have a major knock on effect for the community and the local school, which, in turn will adversely affect all sports teams and clubs in the area.

Not only are we, the locals, going to be affected by this. We also have to take into consideration the effect the hundreds of thousands of solar panels, the 10km of industrial fencing, and the 5km of new road ways that will be developed to facilitate this, will have on the local wildlife and the river Dee that flows along the proposed solar development.

We are kindly asking for your donation, to help in our appeal to An Coimision Pleanala, to fight for and protect our beautiful countryside for ourselves and for future generations to come.
