*Milky Way World Cup — Football for a Cause*
We are a team of contractors from GSV, competing in a football tournament against fellow contractors but this isn’t just about bragging rights on the pitch. It’s about uniting for something bigger than ourselves.

The LIFELINE, in association with DRISP (Danish Research Institute for Suicide Prevention)
About the Project
The Milky Way Project is a major construction site in Hillerød, Denmark. Over the past five years, we’ve been helping build a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical plant with one purpose: to produce lifesaving medicines for people across the globe.
But saving lives isn’t just about physical health. As a team, we decided to go one step further and shine a light on an equally important yet often overlooked part of wellbeing: mental health.
Why Mental Health Matters in Construction
A staggering 83% of construction workers have experienced mental health challenges from anxiety, depression, and stress to fatigue, poor concentration, and low selfconfidence.
When you see numbers like 83%, it means most of us reading this have had at least one bad day when dark thoughts crossed our mind. The danger is how easily that “bad day” can turn into a lasting mental state and in the worst cases, lead to tragedies like suicide if left unaddressed.
For male construction workers, the risk is especially alarming: they are nearly four times more likely to die by suicide than the general population.
Our Goal
We want to help break the culture of stoicism that still runs deep in the construction industry the “tough it out” mindset that too often stops people from seeking help.
Through this tournament, we aim to raise funds for the professionals who dedicate their lives to listening, supporting, and guiding those in crisis the ones who are there when it matters most.
*Football:* A Universal Language
For over a century, football has brought people together across borders, cultures, and languages. We’re keeping that tradition alive with our own Milky Way World Cup uniting teams from around the world, not just to play, but to stand together for mental health.
