Dreaming of a Family of their own

Our daughter Kailyn, our eldest, has always dreamt of being a mother. As with all little girls, when playing with their dolls, they are already practicing motherhood, changing diapers, feeding and burping, dressing, and putting them down for their daily nap. Nearly 30 years later, she is ready to put these long-learned skills to work. She has been married to a wonderful man, Forest, for the past year after dating for five years. They are ready to start a family and have had some complications. After much discussion, crying and coming to terms with their situation, they have decided that it is okay to share their story with others, realizing that they are not alone and understanding that they cannot do this alone. During this challenging time, they need support, compassion, and generosity. Kailyn was diagnosed with PCOS in 2021 and has struggled for the past year to become pregnant. At the beginning of 2021, Forest and Kailyn began testing for infertility. Several negative tests have taken a toll on both Kailyn and Forest. Not only does Kailyn have PCOS, but Forest struggles with male factor fertility as well. They were referred to a fertility clinic and they quickly found out that insurance does not cover fertility costs. Every appointment, bloodwork, procedure, test and treatment plan will have to come out of pocket. So far, Kailyn and Forest have spent thousands of dollars and are not sure how much farther they will be able to go in making their dream of having a baby together come true due to the high cost. After having gone through many tests and procedures, Kailyn and Forest’s only option is IVF.
