We are four third-year medical students from the American University of Anguilla, AJ Kule Kambere, Belineda Bellune, Stanley Senathipathy, and Zabrina Kerr, and together, we’re known as “The Dream Team.” Through Christ who strengthens us, we are committed to preparing for our clinical rotations in the U.S. and Canada while giving back along the way.
This Fall (October–November), we are headed to Uganda for a medical research and mission trip in partnership with Umoja Operation Compassion Society, a nonprofit founded by Dr. Amos and Dr. Edith Kambere that focuses on building unity within families, communities, and nations. Umoja Operation Compassion Society empowers immigrants and refugees in Canada through culturally sensitive programs that support personal growth, integration, and healing. Their programs recognize and respond to the emotional and psychological challenges many newcomers face, offering support that promotes confidence, and a sense of belonging. Umoja also extends its impact to Western Uganda through education and sustainable development initiatives like the Rwentutu Hub Project.
Our main goal is to shadow in hospitals, learn from the Ugandan healthcare system, and contribute to meaningful change. One of our biggest projects is helping update and supply the clinic in Rwentutu, as well as renovating the Umoja cafeteria that the Heavy Hittaz Crew originally built in 2013. The materials in the cafeteria are now outdated and unusable, and the clinic is in desperate need of new equipment and medication.
Our goals include:
• Helping renovate the Umoja Cafeteria with updated materials, furniture, and a working kitchen so students can eat in a clean, functional space.
• Supporting the Rwentutu Medical Clinic with new medical supplies and equipment.
• Shadowing healthcare professionals in Mbarara to gain firsthand experience in global medicine.
• Spreading the Gospel through love, testimonies, and truth; reminding everyone young and old, that no one is too far gone and Jesus still saves.
We believe this mission will not only bless the people of Rwentutu, but will shape us into better future doctors; compassionate, capable, and globally aware.
Thank you for helping us be the hands and feet of Christ. Follow our journey and support us in other ways on Instagram:[@dreamteam4global]. Every share, prayer, and donation brings us one step closer to serving with purpose.
With gratitude and purpose,
