Help Dream Catchers Build their School

UNICEF estimates over 10 million children in Nigeria will never receive an
education. This number is expected to rise with many girls not returning to school
post-Covid. Barriers to education range from lack of money for fees, uniforms,
and supplies as well as families’ needing children to work on the streets to help
provide income. In addition, despite the rich legacy of the arts in Nigeria,
performing art is not taught in schools and only a very small percentage of
children have access to extracurricular arts training and education.
Dream Catchers Academy is a non-profit that offers educational opportunities to
orphaned and underserved girls in hopes of positively impacting their path and
our future world. We are raising money for building and furnishing a free
educational and performing arts academy for underserved girls in Lagos Nigeria.
Our Academy will also provide a hostel which will serve as a sanctuary and living
space for the girls.
The school which will be an educational and performing arts academy is already
under construction in Lagos. However, we still have a long way to go. We hope
to be able to host 100 girls in the school, once built. We believe these girls will be
the future leaders and creative ambassadors of Nigeria. We have attached a
couple videos of the girls talking about the new school. They are full of hope and
excitement, and we feel this is a crucial moment to move forward with our vision.
Through the generosity of well meaning people and supporters of Dream Nurture
Foundation and Dream Catchers Academy; we previously raised the sum of $26, 707.70.
With these funds, we were able to commence activities for our proposed school
building. The work completed so far includes:
·      The sum of 2, 118, 900NGN ($5,503.64) for the construction of Foundation,
·      The sum 2, 794, 873 NGN ($7,259.41) for the procurement of building materials and
·      community development services ,
·      1,957,000NGN ($5,083.12) for Wall, Reinforced concrete, columns, beams,
·      Lintel etc
·      3,414, 000NGN ($8,867.53) for Procurement of additional blocks, Workmanship,
·      General Logistics & PR, Government Documentation, drilling of borehole, part
·      Payment for electricity prepaid metre.
We are counting on you to help us achieve our next level of the building project.
The Next stage is the Construction of the 1st floor reinforced slab and beams
including staircase which will cost 4,000,000 NGN ($10,389.61)
With the completion of the next stage, we will be able to start classes at the
ground floor while we work on building the upper floor.
The remainder of the funds will be used towards the completion of the upper floor and furniture.
