Busselton Jetty Swim Fundraiser - Louissa Alessandri Fund

I am swimming 3.6km around the Busselton Jetty next week to raise funds for the Dr Louisa Alessandri Memorial Fund Scholarship. Dr Alessandri was a trailblazer in disability rights and the scholarship supports disabled scholars in tertiary education.

As a wheelchair user with questionable core strength and sinking legs, I am counting solely on my buff shoulders to carry me around the jetty. My long time friend and physio Rebecca Hughes has trained me for this swim and will be my support swimmer/spotter/rudder in the water to make sure we don't drown or get eaten by sharks. We are swimming together to celebrate a 32 year friendship and for disability pride.
