Former Royal Surgeon, Dr Bhampa Rai is one of the leading Bhutanese political activists in exile. On top of political activism, Dr Rai has rendered volunteer medical service for over 25 years to the Bhutanese in exile free of any charges.
On 28 May 2018 Dr Bhampa Rai was been admitted to Ananda Lok Hospital in Siliguri, West Bengal. According to preliminary reports, Dr Rai is suffering from internal bleeding in his intestines.
Dr Rai is already facing financial challenges due to regular dialysis to be done for his wife.
The family has said, any kind of support towards Dr Rai’s treatment would be welcomed.
