We are actively fundraising to support a six-day surgical mission trip to provide care to the underserved community in Azua, Dominica Republic. The trip will include 6 orthopaedic surgery residents, attending surgeons, and an internist and is only possible through our supporters' volunteer efforts and donations!

The first trip was in 2014 due to the tireless effort of a Rush orthopaedic surgical resident, William Slikker MD. We have continued to seek donations for all the needed supplies and implants to maximize our journey's impact. Last year we returned after a COVID hiatus and performed 24 surgical procedures, including 3 fractures on one patient. Residents who have gone on the trip in the past say it was a highlight of residency and has helped give these patients care that they otherwise would not have been able to receive.

We are planning on returning this year with 6 residents and are raising funds to help finance the travel expenses for the residents. Any amount would be greatly appreciated to decrease the financial burden the residents would otherwise have to pay.

We greatly appreciate any support. Your generosity is invaluable and allows the residents to participate in the trip to help those who otherwise would not have access to health care.
