What we are going to do
We are volunteers at Dover Pantry. On the weekend of the 6th/7th September we plan to walk the 18 miles from Dover to Canterbury via the Pilgrim route the "Via Francigena " (in reverse) in order to raise much needed funds for our Social Supermarket, which aims to combat food poverty and reduce food waste.
Please help us by donating now!
What is the Dover Pantry?
The primary purpose of Dover Pantry is to reduce food poverty in the CT16 and CT17 areas by providing a Social Supermarket in an accessible location. Those struggling to make ends meet can be accepted as members and for a small weekly fee can supplement their regular weekly shop with a variety of fresh and frozen meats and fish, vegetables and store cupboard essentials. Surplus perfectly good food that would otherwise go to landfill is collected from local supermarkets by a team of volunteers. This is supplemented by buying in goods to offer variety and choice.
We are feeding the Community, and reducing tons of food waste. A win win!
Please help us support others get on their feet and be able to feed their families with the dignity, and hope that our Pantry offers
