My name is Kathy Miller. My brother Doug Griffith has been diagnosed with ALS. This is a brain disease that affects your muscles. Doug is currently in the hospital in Pittsburg Pa in ICU a waiting a surgery to place in a feeding tube, due to his inability to swallow.

Sadly, they are unable to do the surgery at this time because he has been having difficulty breathing. They are trying to strengthen his lungs to under go the surgery.

In addition, Doug has lost the ability to properly speak. He tries with great difficulty.

Doug just turned 65. He is a husband, father and grand father. Doug is a Christian and has spent the majority of his life attending church, singing and playing his guitar in church, in nursing homes and has spent many hours sitting by death beds, praying for the terminally ill.

His loving wife, together since teenagers is trying to hold down a job while running back and forth to the hospital and doctors for the past year. Unfortunately, Doug has been on disability for many years due to back pain and has under gone many back surgeries. He has lived in constant pain but always endured until this fatal disease set in.

I have set up this GoFundMe in hopes of receiving donations to help the family out with the travel and medical expenses. His daughter Stefani has taken off work to drive her mother to and from the hospital. A 160 mile round trip daily. This is not a wealthy family. Live pay check to pay check. However, they are a Christian family and have always lived the righteous path in life.
