Douglas Family Stranded by Stolen Vehicle

Hi! I’m writing this on behalf of my dear family friends, who have been in my life for nearly 30 years. I can vouch for their kindness, strong work ethic, and character. Last night, their only vehicle was stolen in Milwaukee, making transportation to work and school impossible and causing a financial hardship. I’ll quote Matt below. I’m hoping that you can help the Douglas family pay to rent a car and secure a new vehicle so they can get back in their feet.

Milwaukee, Why?

Tonight our family's only car was stolen outside The Cooperage, between load-in and soundcheck (4:40-6:10pm). It was locked outside of the venue on the street right behind the keyboard player's car, in broad daylight. It appears they broke the door handle off because the door handle parts were laying in the road (pictures attached). I called the police right away and waited by the curb until 7:45pm for them to arrive. I made an insurance claim, and Jackie ended up needing to Uber to the Madison airport to rent a car and drive to Milwaukee to pick me and all my gear up after the show. Jackie is amazing!

All of this has me seriously thinking about my life choices. Is it worth me performing anymore...with this risk? Should I expect to have my car stolen and take measure to prevent that when in Milwaukee? Is having a Kia make me a target? This will likely have large negative finacial and logistical stress on our family. Anyone want to started a "Go Fund Me" for me? Will we ever see the car again? I am feeling a bit lost.
