I hope that this message finds you well.  You all have been students of mine and you are truly my pride and joy. I am pleased that I still do some teaching in the perfusion program and Medical Pharmacology Graduate Programs even though I have been officially retired for three years.


The only thing I have asked of you as a student is to perform at the highest scholastic level as possible. But today I have another request.

For over 15 years I have managed a program in South Tucson serving our “neighbors in need”.  This last year we have served over 30,000 hot and nutritious meals, distributed over 10,000 pieces of clothing, provided over 3,000 hot showers and I have also spent much time with jail, prison, and hospital visitations. All of this has been solely with volunteer corps which has, at times, included some of you. This year the cumulative volunteer’s hours have exceeded 30,000 hours. All foods, clothing, and supplies are donated and therefore we have no personnel overhead. 

 To provide these 30,000 plus meals we need a functional kitchen.  What we need most, and the reason that I am contacting you, is a replacement walk-in refrigerator/ freezer.

I am hoping that you could help with a financial contribution toward a goal of $30,000.  All donations are tax deductible.
