I’m participating in the Dorney Lake Triathlon on May 2nd to support brain tumour research. This race is deeply personal to me - I’m running for my mum, Chrissy Humm, who is battling a grade 4 glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer. After diagnosis and surgery, the average life expectancy is just 12–18 months, showing how urgently more research is needed. Despite this, my mum continues to fight with incredible strength and determination, and we remain hopeful. Part of my motivation for this challenge is to show my mum that I will put my mind to something and fight- just as she is fighting this cruel disease every single day. I’m running so that my family, friends, and I can all be part of curing this disease - whether that happens in my lifetime or the next. Any donations, no matter how small, are greatly appreciated and help support vital brain tumour research.
