Hello, my name is Dorien Sutton. I am 17 years old, and I am a Life Scout in Troop 74, currently seeking my Eagle Rank. I am a student at Greene Early College, a Beta Club Member, a certified welding student, and a proud volunteer firefighter. I have recently found a new passion for organic gardening, and for my Eagle project, I have decided to beautify and refurbish my community's Pre-K Center's garden area. My Eagle Project mainly entails replacing the six existing garden beds and building four additional ones, that are 4 feet long by 4 feet wide by 2 ft high, to have one bed per class. My project goal is to help the Pre-K Center reutilize the garden area to expose their students to sustainable gardening and make it easier for teachers and students to maintain. My estimated cost for this project is $2,500, and I plan to have a couple of fundraisers such as a BBQ Chicken Plate Sale and a Thanksgiving Bake Sale to raise the majority of funds needed for my project.
