Help us buy Doodad his dream car - 2000 Ford Taurus WAGON - for his 70th birthday!!
He is known by many names: Ken, Kenny, Yank, Dad, Doodad to name a few. He has probably helped you move something heavy, or fix something broken. Most know him for his cheerful, helpful nature, but few know his love for the fourth generation Ford Taurus. Doodad's love affair with the Taurus began purely as an economic decision, but soon blossomed into a deep appreciation for the power, engineering genius and utility. Over the years, he has had the pleasure to own 5 different Ford Tauruses. Maybe you have seen him loading 25 2x4s into one of them in the Home Depot parking lot. Maybe you have seen him pull his 70lb tool bag out of the trunk like it was no big deal.
The reality is, Doodad is getting older. He's not that spry 62 year old anymore, and the lip to the trunk is getting a little too big to keep up the 70lb tool bag gig. Enter the Ford Taurus Wagon. This marvel of modern machinery will allow Doodad's love for the 24 valve V6 Taurus AND his love for lugging around 2x4s and heavy tools to continue for at least another decade. After a nationwide search, we found a one-owner 2000 Ford Taurus Wagon with 56000 miles. With careful maintenance (the only kind Doodad knows), this beauty should last as long as Doodad.
The Plan: All of Doodad's family, and much of his extended family, will be gathered at the lakehouse for his 70th birthday on July 4th. We are going to surprise him with his new car. We invite you to participate in this surprise financially to show your love and support to Doodad.
