Dear Sarasota Community,
We have been blessed with the gift of one cottage that is to become a part of the Sarasota Bungalow Village. Unfortunately, this cottage is in danger of being demolished.
Rather than allowing this historic Sarasota cottage to disappear forever, we are working to physically relocate the cottage just 0.7 miles away, where it can be preserved and given a new life as part of The Sarasota Bungalow Village.
Our goal is to raise $100,000 by December 1, 2026.
The funds raised will help accomplish the relocation and preservation of this special piece of Sarasota history possible.
Moving an entire cottage is no small undertaking. It requires specialized equipment, professional movers, site preparation, utilities, restoration, and countless hours of planning and work.
Whether you can give $10, $50, $100, $500—or make a much larger contribution—every dollar brings us one step closer to seeing this cottage safely moved instead of demolished.

Once relocated, the cottage will become part of The Sarasota Bungalow Village, a destination created to cater to our community that celebrates the charm, character, and history of Sarasota. The village plans to include The Breakfast House, Siegfried's Restaurant, Discover Sarasota Tours, The Cookie Cottage, and The Artful Giraffe.
Instead of becoming another demolished structure that exists only in old photographs, this cottage can continue to have a purpose for generations to come.
It can be saved.
It can be moved.
It can have a new beginning.
But we need to act now.
The cottage is facing the possibility of demolition, and our fundraising deadline is December 1, 2026. Every day brings us closer to the moment when a decision must be made about its future.
