Don’s monthly prescription

Hey guys! This is really hard for me as I usually don’t ask for money besides Keegan’s baseball. But about a year ago my stepdad, who, if you know him…well you know what a man he is, developed IPF, Idiopathic Pulmonary Fobrosis. It is a true BITCH of a disease. There is ZERO known cause. It comes out of nowhere. There is also ZERO cure. It cannot be cured, but only helped to medicate it so that it does not get worse, altho, it almost progressively does. My Don, my second dad after losing mine, is THE most giving man I know. He is a drug and alcohol counselor for the Erie Community and if his patients can’t pay, welll….he doesn’t get paid, cause that’s who he is. He has been a part of Catholic Charities for decades, helping and supporting his community. This man is the most gentle and giving man I have literally ever met in my lifetime. He is the epitome of a gentleman. This disease is insane and the fact that it comes outta nowhere is even worse. This disease took him from a workhorse to a man who can barely walk from room to room without getting winded. It tires him to walk up stairs to bed, for no apparent reason!!! He never smoked, never worked in a factory or mine…but now he can barely breathe. His prescription, which will only prevent future deterioration, NOT IMPROVE his current situation is $2000 PER MONTH!!! That is their copay!!!! The actual charge is $12,000. ( DONT GET ME STARTED ON BIG PHARMA!!! ) Who the hell is expected to pay this??? $2,000 a month for a medicine that is meant to make my dad feel comfortable, not even cured?!?!?! So, here I am… reaching out to YOU! I wish I could afford all of his care, but I cannot. So, if you can, I’ll asking for anything you can give to help ease the pressure on my parents. They are amazing, God Loving people, and deserve all the support they can get.
