Doncaster Homeless Christmas Shoe Box Appeal

The ‘Doncaster Christmas Homeless Shoe box Appeal’ started 6 years ago with the premise of giving our homeless community a gift of both essential items and some non-essential treats to  show them they are cared for, throughout the Christmas period. Over the last six years, because of the sheer generosity of the Doncaster people, we have managed to expand this idea and give thousands of gifts to people who are in need.  You have helped us support people and animals in many different circumstances, and I know that this has been hugely appreciated by the individuals and organisations who have received your donations. Unfortunately, this year, we are working within a realm of unusual circumstances, which mean our charities will need the support more than ever, while at the same time, we need to remain as socially distanced from one and other as possible, to ensure that we all stay fit and healthy to celebrate better times together when they come. With this in mind, and hopefully just for this one year only, I’ve decided to set up this go fund me appeal to replace our usual box donations. The idea being that whatever money is donated will be split evenly across the charities we have already supported through the last 5 years. We may donate the money directly, or we may use it to buy goods needed by the charities and send them directly to them, we will make that decision on an individual basis, but the amount raised and the money donated will be fully transparent, so you can see exactly where your donations have gone. If you would like to leave a message of good will with your donation, I will have these printed into photo books, and presented to the charities,  so they can read through all your lovely messages, and see how much support there is out there for the wonderful  work they do.
