Helping the Green Family from Hurricane IDA!
Donation protected
Hi my name is Davonte' Green and I am a senior at NWMSU where I am studying business management and playing football. Part of my college journey is being away from home, not only during a pandemic but as a unexpected natural disaster. As most you all may know, Hurricane Ida ripped thru Hammond, Louisiana. Hammond is where I call home and where all my family resides. Although we have experienced hurricanes before, Hurricane Ida was bigger and stronger causing an abundance of damage to our city. To some the hurricane came and went but for my family and the people of my city the damage of the hurricane has affected us tremendously. This tragedy of Hurricane has left my family with major damages in their homes and some without homes to return to. This have raised to the depression level and anxiety within my family due to my sister just having a baby and my grandfather recently having surgery not being able to do much for themselves. The hurricane has left them without lights, power and very limited to things like food, shelter and transportation. While I am away at school I am trying to help provide for my family and elderly grandparents and great grandma as they recuperate from the damage. The timing of Hurricane Ida couldn’t not have come at a worst time. Through these trying time as my family rebuilds the life that they spent years creating we are asking for any help in efforts to get back to what was our normal. No donation is too big or too small and everything is appreciated.
