San Juan Raya in Memory of Oisín Barr

San Juan Raya is a small desert community in the biosphere of Tehuacán-Cuicatlán, Mexico. The remote town is 180km from Puebla, the capital of the region where many young people go to work and send money back to support their families.

Oisín frequently travelled from his home in the city of Puebla, to San Juan, where he developed friendships with people from the area. In 2020 San Juan was severely impacted by Covid-19, when workers were no longer able to send money back to the town. Oisín arranged for food and supplies to be bought, delivered on trucks and allocated by community elders.

People are welcome to make a donation in lieu of flowers. The donations will provide food and school supplies for San Juan Raya.
