Donations for my uncle’s treatment, medications & procedures

I’m not someone who typically feels comfortable asking for help, especially financial help but my family is facing an incredibly difficult situation, and I’m reaching out with hope.

My uncle, who lives in Mexico, has been battling severe medical complications. It began with persistent migraines that led to a diagnosis of a blood clot in his brain. He underwent surgery to remove the clot and have a catheter inserted to help with fluid drainage. Unfortunately, due to limited resources and medical oversight, he was discharged just two days later and quickly suffered complications that sent him back to the hospital.

Since then, his condition has deteriorated drastically. He’s now unable to speak, eat, or move; except for slight finger movement and requires 24/7 care. We later learned that the catheter was improperly placed, which led to anemia and further complications. He remains bedridden, unable to move, communicate, and in excruciating pain.

Due to the lack of mobility and airflow, he developed severe pressure ulcers on his buttocks. Despite our family’s efforts to treat them, the ulcers worsened and eventually required another surgery. The doctors discovered that the surrounding skin had decayed so deeply it reached the bones in his rear. While they were able to remove the infected tissue, he’s now left with an open wound that requires constant medical attention.

A second opinion offered the possibility of another surgery, but the risks are extremely high given his fragile state. Meanwhile, the costs of medication, caregiving, and ongoing treatment have become overwhelming for our family. The surgery alone is estimated at $12,000 USD, a huge amount for us. Any donation, no matter how small, would make a meaningful difference. It could help cover basic care, reduce his pain, and potentially give him access to specialized treatment that could save his life.
