This is the Mary Byron story Want to join me in making a difference? I am a senior at Mercy Academy and I'm raising money to benefit The Mary Byron Project, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me. The Mary Byron Project was established in 2000 in memory of the young woman who’s tragic nursed led to the creation of automated crime victim notification technologies. To continue their efforts to enhance justice to end intimate partner violence, the Mary Byron Project needs our help more than ever! In the past year, they have taken on a new legal focus and launched several new programs and initiatives. Their Appellate Advocacy Program provides representation for domestic violence survivors whose efforts at relief have been unjustly thwarted. They go to higher courts on behalf of victim-survivors to ensure the law is applied in a way that protects them, and to hold judges accountable. They are training professionals within the criminal justice system in hopes of ensuring just results for survivors. Because all of these critical services are offered at no charge, they need our help to continue their important work, especially during a pandemic that disproportionately affects domestic violence victims!
