Hi, my name is Ryan Adams, I am 17 years old and lived in a family of 5. All of this changed on May 5, 2022, when we officially adopted my 10-year-old cousin at the time. It didn't start there though, it started in February of 2018 and it wasn't John who we are talking about, it was his younger sister who was 3 at the time. We first started fostering her because she was taken out of her home at the time and we knew she needed the help. When she came to us she had nothing but the clothes that she wore on her, no toothbrush, no toys, no blankets, just her and the clothes she wore on her. My parents provided her with everything she needed, but it came at a cost, the prices to provide her with everything she needed were in the thousands and I can't imagine what it would be like today. When she found a forever home, it was a sad goodbye but we knew this is what she needed and what her brothers needed as well. After she was gone we didn't think we would ever be in that type of situation again. That's when John came into the picture, we provided for him just like we did for his sister, it wasn't anything new for us. We eventually made John our official family with no regrets. This is why I know starting this fundraiser will help me to provide for more children in need in the foster system just like John and his sister. I want to give support to other children just like my family did to my brother and his sister. With the donations given, I plan on purchasing clothes, blankets, personal hygiene items, and toys for children going into foster care. Thank you for your support.
