We never imagined we’d be writing something like this, although the times call for such measures.

Ashton was just 19 years old, he was a Son, a Brother, and a best mate, and low and behold the reason everyone was able to put on a smile in dire times. Ashton was someone who left a mark on everybody around him. He had a big heart, a sharp sense of humour, and a way of making people feel welcomed and included just by being himself.

If you knew Ashton well like so few did, you knew his loyalty ran deep. In recent months, Ashton had been working incredibly hard to turn his life around. He was showing up, putting in the effort, and genuinely trying to build a better future for himself. At just 19, he was learning, growing, and taking responsibility and regaining control for his life.

He spoke highly of plans, about doing better, and about what he wanted next. Those closest to him could see how proud he was of the progress he was making.

Tragically, Ashton passed away while at work. Losing him so suddenly has completely shattered his family, friends, and everyone who loved him. Knowing how young he was, and how hard he was trying to move forward, makes this loss even more devastating. He had so much life ahead of him.

This GoFundMe has been created to support Ashton’s family during the most heartbreaking time of their lives. The funds will go toward related funeral expenses including travel to and from the families hometown which is 6 hours each way, helping ease the financial burden they now face, so they can focus on grieving and remembering Ashton for who he truly was.
