On Tuesday 17th February, my brother Brian tragically passed away. He went to work on a building site that morning and, heartbreakingly, did not make it home to his partner Bex and their daughters. He was just 42 years old.

Brian was killed in a workplace incident — a sudden, unimaginable loss for everyone who knew him. You may have seen this in the news the housing development by Tilia homes in Furlong Heath, Sprowston.

He was a hugely popular and kind-hearted man who would help absolutely anyone. Brian could strike up a conversation with anyone he met. Although he wasn’t originally from Norwich — having grown up on the west coast of Scotland — he had made Norwich his home for almost 20 years.

This devastating loss will affect the family in countless ways, including financially. I’ve set up this GoFundMe to support Bex and the girls during this incredibly difficult time — not only to help with funeral costs, but also with immediate living expenses. Going from two incomes to one overnight is overwhelming, especially while they are still in shock and trying to navigate each painful day without the man they deeply loved.

They should not have to worry about bills or financial pressures while grieving such a tragic loss. Any support, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference.
