For over a decade, Valley Relics Museum has existed to preserve and celebrate the unique history of the San Fernando Valley. Our nonprofit museum houses thousands of irreplaceable Valley artifacts across two airplane hangars at Van Nuys Airport. Over the years, we have rescued several of the Valley’s iconic signs to ensure these important pieces of local history are not lost. Valley residents, businesses, and collectors have also donated items from their own collections to share with the community. Many of these artifacts were once part of everyday life. Our mission is to preserve these relics and showcase the history, culture, and spirit of the San Fernando Valley.

Why We Need Your Help

The COVID-19 pandemic had a major impact on Valley Relics Museum. Like many small businesses, nonprofits, and museums, we were forced to close our doors. All public events and programs were halted, resulting in a substantial loss of operating revenue. We were also unable to host the private events that provide crucial funding that help keep our museum open. Although we have worked hard to recover, the financial impact of the pandemic continues to affect us, particularly as the operating costs of running a museum at this scale have risen dramatically.

We are working to relaunch a schedule of public events and re-establish Valley Relics Museum as an active gathering place for our community. Additional resources, staffing, and preparation are needed to make this possible. Your support will give us the opportunity to relaunch these programs and celebrate our Valley together as a community.

Covering Essential Operating Overhead & Bills: Direct relief to catch and keep up with rent, hangar utilities, site maintenance, insurance, and daily operations. Launching New Interactive Exhibits: Funding the restoration and rotation of unseen artifacts from our extensive collection, including fresh displays on Valley cruising/car culture, historic local architecture, and film history.

Powering Our Public Event Schedule: Launching a brand-new season of public programming, community workshops, educational school tours, and community gatherings.
