It was with the heaviest of hearts that we had to share the news that our amazing gorgeous Bilbo had been diagnosed with Leukeamia at the end of October 2018.Read about Bilbo's Journey
We've been overwhelmed with love and kindness from across the globe, from friendship groups, our family, our colleagues and complete strangers. So many of you have asked how you can help? Well we've decided to turn this setback into something positive.
We will be asking our family, friends and colleagues to donate blood or donate money to a very special charity in Bilbo's name.
There are two ways you can help us you can donate your blood*
To put into context how important it is to give blood Bilbo had already had 3 units of blood and 4 platelet transfusions in his first week of treatment.
These are really important to Bilbo right now as they are what stop him from bruising under the skin and they stop him having nose bleeds. When Bilbo gets a nose bleed it is very hard to get it to stop. Platelets help blood to clot. Platelet donation is incredibly valuable but not as easy to do. It takes a bit longer but apparently you can get a sandwich which is an upgrade on the biscuit.

through this page.
We've picked this charity because a big part of who we are as a family is about having ambitions, dreams and living for experiences. Clic Sargent support families and young people to get people's life back on track during and after the big C diagnosis. When cancer strikes young lives CLIC Sargent helps families limit the damage cancer causes beyond their health.
"Cancer is shocking, overwhelming, isolating... and completely unfair. Especially when you’re young. It takes over your life. Treatment is gruelling and your ambitions and dreams – education, relationships, career, travel – suddenly seem very far away.
We get that. That’s why CLIC Sargent fights tirelessly to stop cancer destroying young lives. We provide grants and free accommodation close to hospital to help with spiralling costs. Our care teams are on hand to help families with everything from getting benefits to treatment closer to home. And we lobby the government to make sure they get the support they’re entitled to. We’re here to make sure young cancer patients can focus on getting their lives back on track.
And we know everyone is different, so we work hard to make sure our support is given how each child and young person needs it most."
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Bilbo and the Godber team.
