We are a Black Woman-Owned 25-acre Farm located in Northeast Ohio. We are new to farming. This is only our second growing season. Last year, we were able to build 2 raised beds and managed to successfully grow many varieties of produce.
This year, we are hoping to add 2 more raised beds. We have the funds for the additional beds, but are running short of funds for topsoil needed to fill the beds. We spent all of this past winter filling the garden beds with biodegradable materials such as cardboard, leaves, and sticks in hopes that we could cut down on the amount of topsoil needed. We estimate that we need about 20 yards of topsoil to get the beds ready for this growing season.
We have had a few setbacks that have depleted our resources and are hopeful that other community-minded people will help.
