Suicide is now the leading cause of death in the homeless youth population. Mortality rates due to suicide in this area can be as much as 20 times higher than in the general population. It is estimated that annually, over 5000 kids commit suicide due to the stress of having to live on the street. Almost 2/3 of runaway youth are female. The average age of a runaway youth is 14.7 years.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children estimates that within 48 hours of hitting the streets, one-third of these kids are lured or recruited into the underground world of prostitution and pornography

Youth Harbor is an unapologetically 100% faith-based, non-profit outreach program for pre-adolescents and adolescents (17 and under) who are living on the streets. We are currently in our final building phase and have completed all necessary state filings, submitted our 501(c)(3) application, and created a comprehensive and robust volunteer training program.

We have established a toll-free number available 24/7 so that any youth in crisis can, at any time, connect with a caring and compassionate person who will listen and offer hope without judgment.

Our immediate goal is to meet their basic needs by providing essentials like safety, clothing, blankets, and food for the upcoming winter months. Then, God willing, as we grow, we will open a drop-in center to provide a safe and comfortable respite from the streets. Continuing to follow God's will, we will be opening a shelter offering food, safety, and a clean bed, all the while letting them see the love of Christ through us.

At Youth Harbor we firmly believe that no child, regardless of how jaded or how hardened their heart has become, is beyond the redemptive power of Christ's love.
