Hello Everyone,
I wanted to share my sister’s story with you. Her name is Yesenia Beltran Estrada, and she is 44 years old. She has been married to Raul Estrada for 12 wonderful years. Yesenia works in the medical field as a CNA & Monitor Tech at a large local hospital. Although the Lord couldn’t bless them with children of their own, God blessed them with many nieces and nephews whom they love to spoil and adore. They were also fortunate enough to help raise two of their great nieces as their own.
In early July 2022, following an unrelated health issue, my sister began to feel very sick. She was in and out of the hospital and was finally hospitalized after many visits, scans, and tests. She had to undergo urgent surgery and was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. The surgery was considered a success as they removed all visible cancer, leading the doctors to downgrade her diagnosis to Stage 3 colon cancer. A few weeks after surgery, she immediately started her rounds of chemotherapy treatments and later had radiation.
Everything seemed to be going well, and she resumed her daily activities, even returning to work after almost a year of being out sick. All her scans came out clear, and she was considered cancer-free. She even started traveling and checking things off her bucket list. It was amazing to see her enjoying life and stepping out of her comfort zone.
However, about a month ago, my sister started experiencing excruciating pain in her lower left abdomen and heavy bleeding. She sought medical attention, and after several weeks of tests, they discovered a large growth in her left ovary. A week later, the pain moved to the right side. Thankfully, a doctor moved quickly and decided to proceed with a total hysterectomy. During surgery, they tested the mass, and it came back as a recurrence of colon cancer that had now spread to other organs and was growing aggressively.
This has been devastating news for my sister, her husband, and our entire family. Cancer was incredibly tough on her physically, emotionally, and financially the first time around. Just as they were getting back on their feet, they now face this battle again. We know she is in God’s hands, but as He states, it takes a village, and this is where we come to you, our village, our family, our friends. We are reaching out to ask for your help. Yesenia is blessed with life and is determined to keep fighting, but it’s hard to do so with worries and stress on her shoulders. Let’s help her fight by blessing her with love, prayer, and financial support.
Thank you all, and may God continue to bless you. We love you.
