Donate to UNRWA: Noor and Mohammad's Wedding Wish

For our wedding, we, Noor and Mohammad, have decided to ask our friends and family to donate to UNRWA in lieu of traditional gifts. UNRWA is a UN agency that provides essential services to Palestinian refugees in the Middle East. These services include education, healthcare, food, and shelter. UNRWA also provides emergency assistance to Palestinians in times of crisis.

In recent years, the situation for Palestinians has become increasingly dire. The ongoing conflict in the region has led to widespread human devastation, particularly in the Gaza Strip. Gaza has been under a strict blockade for over a decade, and the vast majority of its residents live in poverty. The recent escalation of violence has only worsened the situation, with hundreds of Palestinians killed or injured. UNRWA is working tirelessly to provide humanitarian assistance to those in need, but they are in desperate need of funding. We believe that donating to UNRWA is a meaningful way to help alleviate the suffering of Palestinians and to support their right to a life of dignity and peace.

لحفل زفافنا، قررنا، نور ومحمد، أن نطلب من أصدقائنا وعائلتنا التبرع للأونروا بدلًا من الهدايا التقليدية. الأونروا هي وكالة تابعة للأمم المتحدة تقدم خدمات أساسية للاجئين الفلسطينيين في الشرق الأوسط. تشمل هذه الخدمات التعليم والرعاية الصحية والغذاء والمأوى. كما تقدم الأونروا مساعدات طارئة للفلسطينيين في أوقات الأزمات.

في السنوات الأخيرة، أصبح الوضع بالنسبة للفلسطينيين أكثر قتامة. أدى الصراع المستمر في المنطقة إلى دمار إنساني واسع النطاق، لا سيما في قطاع غزة. تخضع غزة لحصار صارم منذ أكثر من عقد من الزمان، ويعيش غالبية سكانها في فقر. أدى التصعيد الأخير للعنف إلى تفاقم الوضع، حيث قُتل أو جُرح المئات من الفلسطينيين. تعمل الأونروا بلا كلل لتقديم المساعدة الإنسانية للمحتاجين، لكنها في أمس الحاجة إلى التمويل. نعتقد أن التبرع للأونروا هو وسيلة ذات معنى للمساعدة في تخفيف معاناة الفلسطينيين ودعم حقهم في حياة كريمة وسلام.
