I am starting a GoFundMe for UNRWA. While I am not in the space to be on the frontlines, I do know this organization needs any support, monetary or not, they can get at the moment.

If you don't know who they are or what they do, please read the information below.

UNRWA human development and humanitarian services encompass primary and vocational education, primary health care, relief and social services, infrastructure and camp improvement, microfinance, and emergency response, including in situations of armed conflict.

Palestine refugees

UNRWA is unique in terms of its long-standing commitment to one group of refugees. It has contributed to the welfare and human development of four generations of Palestine refugees, defined as “persons whose normal place of residence was Palestine during the period 1 June 1946 to 15 May 1948, and who lost both home and means of livelihood as a result of the 1948 War.” The descendants of Palestine refugee males, including legally adopted children, are also eligible for registration.

UNRWA services are available to all those living in its areas of operations who meet this definition, who are registered with the Agency, and who need assistance. When the Agency began operations in 1950, it was responding to the needs of about 750,000 Palestine refugees. Today, some 5.9 million Palestine refugees are eligible for UNRWA services.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Riley, I'm living in the Bay Area and I'll keep this simple:

I'm fundraising to support those affected by the genocide currently unfolding in Gaza.

The idea is to ride 40 miles a day, every day, and raise as much as possible in 30 days.

All funds will be donated to UNRWA - United Nations Relief and Works Agency- for Palestinian refugees.

The minimum amount I'd like to raise is $1,200.

Why 40 miles?

While I would like to turn this into a cross-country bike tour, I currently work full time.

40 miles a day is an achievable distance after work every day.

$1 per mile ridden amounts to $1,200 in 30 days.

Why a fixed gear?

It's the simplest bicycle there is mechanically.

Problems are easy to fix and keep me riding every day.

Immediate Aid for Gaza: Support 5Cs UNRWA Campaign

We are the Claremont Colleges Muslim Student Association, JVP, and SWANA. Right now, HALF A MILLION refugees in Gaza are classified as having food insecurity equivalent to famine levels of starvation, as defined by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC). Every person in Gaza is hungry per the World Food Programme. And four out of five of the hungriest people anywhere in the world are in Gaza per the UN Secretary-General. Around 90% of Gaza’s population has been displaced by the war, living in tents, UNRWA Schools and Hospitals, and in the streets. Cold nights and winter rainfall are exacerbating the already dire situation with lack of electricity and fuel.

All the funds will be directed to UNRWA, which is the largest humanitarian organization in Gaza. Of its 13,000 staff, more than 3,000 continue working: they are the backbone of the humanitarian aid operations. As of January 10th, UNRWA distributed 2.6 million pounds of flour, 2.5 million units of high energy biscuits, 3.8 millions cans of protein-based food, and 4.8 million dairy items. The colossal humanitarian needs of over 2 million people in Gaza now face the risk of deepening following the decision of 16 donor countries, including the U.S. and the UK, to stop financial support to UNRWA.

With the generosity and support of the Claremont Community, we can help thousands of Palestinians. UNRWA provides Palestine refugees with food and non-food items such as blankets, bedding, and hygiene kits. $250 can provide a whole Palestine refuge family with lifesaving drinking water and food for an entire month.

Hello, we are 2 girls from very different places around the world who are very concerned about the unraveling situation in Gaza.

It is really disheartening to see so much bad and be able to do so little, however we are trying to do as much as possible to help the civilians who are currently (and have been) suffering.

Despite this, we want to support this organization, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine (UNWRA) who has been sending humanitarian aide and supplies to the Gaza strip throughout the Israeli occupation.

TLDR: I'm running my first half-marathon on 5/18 to raise money to feed the hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians who are ravaged by famine today. It's my first half marathon, I am nervous and out of shape, but I want to dedicate it to something bigger than me. I will match the first $500 we raise. God bless.

Hey folks, I immigrated to the US from Egypt when I was 6 years old. We come from a large, humble family from a small town and our ability to live in the US is a statistical accident: the green card lottery program, a coin flip, enabled us to be here and live lives a little freer from want, religious oppression, and economic turmoil. With that backdrop, I'm raising money to support a people who are ravaged by rockets and war, death and destruction, and immediate need and hunger. While many of us have won the proverbial lottery, living in some semblance of freedom from war and want, the Palestinian people (especially now) are in desperate need of support. All proceeds will go to UNRWA and to feed the hundreds of thousands of refugees struggling to live and survive today. Beyond the violence people have been subjected to, famine has been decimating the population, nearly half of which are children, so many at this point turned to orphans. It's my hope to raise $1K, and I will personally match the first $500 you contribute.

Final note, I am an Arab Christian and the below passage resonates today more than ever for me. "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."

We are a small community of Bosnian refugees each one with our own diverse story to tell, but what we share is the experience of war and loss and can relate to the situation in Gaza. We are making an Iftar (dinner after fasting for Ramadan) to feed our loving family, friends, and neighbors and anyone who would like to join us in gathering together and praying for safety and survival.
