My wife and I are reaching out on behalf of someone we have come to know and care about. He is as an extremely hard working and skilled carpenter and caring father—Tylar Moe.
Tylar is facing a medical emergency (I've attached a
note below from Tylar that describes the situation he is facing).
Recovery will require Tylar not do physical work for three months.
Tylar is a single parent to four children. During recovery he will not have an income to provide for his family.
Tylar is someone we came to know through his work. He built our neighbor’s garage, did a beautiful job rebuilding our deck, and has worked for many friends, and members of our extended family.
In the process we came to know Tylar as a father dedicated to his children. We feel very lucky to “know a guy” who is as hard working, skilled, and fair, as Tylar is. We recommend Tylar to anyone we know without reservation.
Our hope is to raise funds to help cover Tylar’s family's rent, food, and utilities for the three-month period his recovery will require. He estimates this to be $15,000 for the three months.
We are seeking donations in any amount, but also hoping to raise money by taking advanced orders for work Tylar will complete once he is able. These jobs would be scheduled for the odd day (or days) in between larger jobs that allow him to stay afloat financially. This is a common approach to smaller jobs.
You would be purchasing his labor in increments of $500—an amount equal to five hours of work. So for instance, we need our garage resided. I estimate this is a two day job—so around $1000 in labor + materials. My plan is to contribute $1000, with the understanding my job will be scheduled as he can and that if it takes longer than the two days I estimate I would be responsible for the extra hours.
Our hope is that many of Tylar's past clients will contribute in this way and recommend Tylar to their friends.
Sincerely,

Title: Help a Single Dad of 4 Recover from Life-Saving Surgery
Hi, my name is Tylar Moe, and I’m a single father of four doing my best to hold everything together — but right now, I need help.
In 2022, I started having severe stomach pain and ended up in the ER. Doctors discovered that all my lymph nodes were swollen and, after a biopsy, diagnosed me with sarcoidosis — a rare and painful autoimmune disease. For six months, I couldn’t swallow properly, and the damage to my esophagus was life-changing. Despite the pain, I kept pushing through to work and care for my kids.
In November 2024, I was hospitalized with multifocal pneumonia. When I was discharged, my stomach pain returned — worse than ever. After months of pleading with doctors, I finally had an endoscopy and colonoscopy, which revealed a class IV hiatal hernia and a total failure of the valve between my stomach and esophagus. Basically, food and acid flow right back into my esophagus, causing constant pain, bloating, and digestive issues. I’ve been suffering for years, trying to tough it out for my kids, but I’ve reached my limit.
Now, surgery is my only option. I’m scheduled for a major operation on July 25, 2025, and recovery is expected to take at least three months. I won’t be able to work during that time, and I still need to cover rent, utilities, food, and other essentials for my kids and me.
I hate asking for help. I really do. But I’ve come to a place where I have no choice. My mom is stepping in to help care for the kids, but financially, I’m stretched to the breaking point. If you’re able to give anything — even just a few dollars — it would mean the world to me and my family. Every little bit helps us survive these next few months and get me through this recovery.
God has gotten me this far, and I trust He will continue to provide — often through the kindness of people like you. Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting in any way you can.
With love and gratitude,
Tylar Moe
