Triumps after trials for the Padgett Family

Maria and her family tragetically had their rental of 9 years roof fly off from the Hurricane that ripped through Perry, FL September of 2023 and lost almost all of their belongings from the water damage.
Maria's mother graciously jumped into action and purchased a camper trailer for them to move into temporally and bring from hours away. Upon moving in, they realized there was damage to the camper but she was just grateful to be able to have a roof over her head. Shortly after living in the camper, Maria fell down the small steps to the camper and broke her foot in two different places. And into a boot she went.
FEMA at this point began helping them and stated that they qualified to get one of their single wide FEMA trailers to put on the property. However, they did not get any reiumbursement for any of their belongings due to them being the renters. Her family lost thousands of dollars in belongings and even high dollar items such as hearing aides. During this, Maria was going back and forth with her landlords and they offered to sell them the land for a small cost. As of February they are now the owners after coming up with the money to buy it from her landlord of 9 years.

In March of 2024, her family suffered another tragedy of losing her husbands mother to her fight with cancer. Miss Pam was also due to be a first time great grandmother to Maria's daughter, Kayla, who was due in July of 2024.

While Maria went through all these trials in her life she never lost a smile on her face and was still so giving to others. She remained positive through it all but she has grown tired of the constant battles. Through the battles, though, she has had triumps. Triumps of her mother in law walking in the arms of Jesus and no longer suffering, getting to be landowners, her youngest daughter getting finally enrolled into a better school, welcoming her first grand baby into the world on July 10, 2024, welcoming the Lord into her heart, and the next best news of all.....she is able to purchase the FEMA trailer and stop meeting with them every other week about their plans. Maria has done everything in her power to get a home: from applying for housing, to Habitat for humanity, to SHIP.

My goal is to raise enough money to help her purchase the FEMA trailer. I know Taylor County people love big and she is a prime example of that. Please consider donating to one of our own. Thank you & God Bless!
