During our stay in Ghana, we visited the Impact Care Rehab Foundation founded by Mildred Asiamah in 2015.
Occupying just 3 bedrooms, Ms. Asiamah, along with four other women, are providing round-the-clock care to 52 children with autism and cerebral palsy.
They receive no government funding.
You see, in Ghana, children born less than perfect are shunned and often abandoned. Unfortunately, it is believed that these children are cursed, and being around them means the affliction can be transferred. Their families, for the most part, want nothing to do with them.
The non-profit organization Eban Africa Foundation has worked tirelessly to support the work of these amazing women. They are partnered with Dfree Global Foundation in the US, which is a 501C registered organization. Thus, all donors will receive a tax-deductible receipt for their donation, if it is needed.
After seeing these children and the sacrifice the women make, I was moved to do something to support their work. Any donation, small or large, would be greatly appreciated.
