Fundraising Proposal to Support “Fishing For Gold”

Program starts July 11th 2025 – Ends August 29th 2025

Introduction

"Fishing For Gold" is a transformative fishing program designed for youth ages 9-15, offering them the opportunity to learn essential survival skills, develop leadership, and enjoy nature's beauty. Led by experienced mentors, this initiative provides a safe and nurturing environment where children can explore the joys of freshwater fishing while gaining life lessons and confidence.

Mission and Goals

The mission of "Fishing For Gold" is simple yet impactful: to have fun while teaching kids valuable skills and cultivating an appreciation for the great outdoors. Our program aspires to foster positive interactions with adult role models, encouraging teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership.

Program Overview

Participants: Open to boys and girls ages 9-15, serving up to 8 students per session.

Activities: Hands-on lessons in assembling fishing poles, troubleshooting equipment, casting, reeling, catching, cleaning, and cooking fish.

Unique to our program, students will also learn how to operate drones for fishing.

Trips: Regular excursions to local lakes, rivers, and ponds, with all equipment and lunch provided. A special boat fishing trip is also planned.

Mentorship: Students will benefit from guidance provided by experienced mentors who are committed to teaching life and leadership skills.

Special Features

- Using drones as part of the fishing experience, combining traditional techniques with modern technology.

- Positive and engaging mentorship from staff and volunteer parents.

Budget and Fundraising Goal

To make this program a success, we are seeking to raise $4,250 to cover:
