Hello, everyone! The Texas Medical Association at The UT Tyler School of Medicine is hosting our second annual pickle-ball tournament, The Patriot Open! This tournament will include Men’s and Women’s doubles, with competitive and casual divisions. Our mission extends beyond the court—we're dedicated to raising funds that will contribute to vital health initiatives in East Texas, provide support to our medical student colleagues, and enable local medical students to advocate at conferences and legislative events. Our health initiatives and legislative actions include:

1. Address the health care workforce shortage in East Texas to ensure that all patients have access to the same standard of high-quality, physician-led care, no matter where they live.

2. Advance coverage for under- and uninsured Texans while expanding physicians' ability to care for Medicaid patients with healthier payment rates.

3. Improve funding and supportive services that promote healthy outcomes for women, mothers, and babies.
