Help Build 'The Outpost' A Path to Stability for Our Veterans. (501 C 3 application pending)
Campaign Title: The Outpost: Building Tiny Homes, Restoring Veteran Lives
Goal: $100,000 to cover property acquisition and initial construction costs
The Problem: The Invisible Wound of Veteran Homelessness
The Core Belief: No honorably discharged veteran should ever experience homelessness.
Despite the sacrifices made for our country, thousands of veterans find themselves living on the streets. Here in the Biloxi area and across the nation, limited state and federal resources mean that veterans—especially those battling mental health conditions and substance use disorder—fall through the cracks.
While the VA provides critical acute care (inpatient and residential services), the reality is that after discharge, many veterans are released directly back to the streets. The lack of available, long-term, supportive housing options like HUD VASH vouchers or other community programs leaves them without the stable foundation needed for true recovery. The cycle of instability continues.
We are launching a new non-profit organization dedicated to breaking this cycle.
Our Solution: 'The Outpost' Rehabilitation Community
We are not offering a temporary handout; we are building a rehabilitation community designed for long-term stability and individual empowerment.
Our Goal: To acquire a sizable piece of developmental property near the Biloxi VA Medical Center and build The Outpost —a tiny house community capable of housing 20 honorably discharged homeless veterans.
What The Outpost Will Provide:
* Stable, Sober Housing: A 2-year or less program offering a structured, drug- and alcohol-free environment.
* Individualized Living: 20 Tiny Home Sleeping Pods for privacy and dignity. Each climate-controlled pod will include a bed, lounge chair, desk, and AC/heat.
* Shared Community Spaces:
* A full Community Kitchen and Dining Hall to promote shared responsibility and cooking skills.
* A communal Bath House with shared toilets and showers.
* A dedicated Visitation Center for veterans to host approved visitors away from their private quarters.
* A Focus on Responsibility: The program is designed to promote individual responsibility through mandatory participation in employment, treatment, and community contribution.
The Impact: Restoring Dignity and Self-Sufficiency
Your donation will help us provide the fundamental resources needed to transition veterans from homelessness to self-sufficiency:
Phase 1 -Property Acquisition and Site Development (Utilities/Foundation) Secures the physical location for The Outpost.
Phase 2 -Construction of 20 Tiny Home Pods and Community Buildings Provides 20 safe, private, stable homes for veterans in need.
Phase 3 -Operational Costs (Utilities, Program Supplies, Community Support) sustains the rehabilitation program, allowing veterans to focus on recovery and employment.
The Commitment: A Structured Path to Success
The Outpost is a program built on structure, accountability, and a commitment to a better future. Residents must meet and maintain the following criteria:
* Eligibility: Must be honorably discharged and have a VA service-connected rating of less than 70%.
* Financial Need: Must have an Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of less than $2,000.
* Treatment & Recovery: Must be in continued and verifiable mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment through the VA or VA community care.
* Employment: Must be capable of working and be working or actively seeking employment.
* Community Contribution: Must accept a job/chore at the compound and contribute to the community daily.
* Zero Tolerance Policies: The community is strictly drug and alcohol-free with mandatory testing upon request.
* Security: Residents must undergo a criminal background check (No convicted violent or sex offenders. Other applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis).
* Structure: Mandatory nightly check-in and community meeting.
* Visitor Rules: Zero-tolerance policy for visitors in private sleeping pods or community areas. All visitation must occur in the designated Visitors Center. No overnight guests.
This is a professional program designed to rebuild lives and return productive, stable citizens to our community.
How You Can Help Us Rise
We are asking for your generous support to launch this vital program for the veterans who bravely served us.
* $25 – Buys essential supplies for the community kitchen.
* $100 – Covers the initial background check and application processing for a potential resident.
* $500 – Sponsors a desk and lounge chair for one veteran's private pod.
* $1,000 – Helps fund utility installation to one of the tiny home sites.
* [Your Choice] – Every dollar helps us get closer to acquiring the land.
Please donate today and share our campaign. Together, we can help our veterans rise out of homelessness and into The Outpost.
Note: If for any reason we are unable to achieve our goal, all funds will be returned to donators or given directly to an already established veterans organization.
